At MindHome, operated by Smartnest Inc., we prioritize protecting your household privacy. This document outlines our data practices, in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) regulations. This policy applies strictly to digital telemetry and usage metrics collected when you interact with this website (smartnest.sbs) or our offline smart home hubs.
We only gather data that is essential to configure your personalized smart systems securely. Information is collected through two main methods:
In accordance with Canadian PIPEDA metrics and global standards, we process your personal data using the following legal bases:
| Processing Purpose | Data Involved | Legal Grounds (Canada PIPEDA) |
|---|---|---|
| Responding to consultation inquiries | Name, email, layout requests | Explicit Consent (Section 7.1.a) |
| Optimizing smart device performance | Telemetry, tracking markers | Legitimate Commercial Interests |
| Product maintenance and support | Device system metrics | Contractual Necessity |
Unlike consumer systems that stream continuous audio and camera files, MindHome devices process telemetry data locally on dedicated, physical microchip cores installed inside your home. Data is encrypted using AES-256 protocols and is and never sold or shared with any third-party brokers.
Under PIPEDA standards monitored by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC), you can request access to, correction of, or removal of your records at any time. To make a request, contact our privacy officer at [email protected].
